Easterseals "iCan Bike" is June 1-5, 2026!
Deadline to register is May 6!
Children, youth and adults with disabilities learn to ride regular two-wheeled bicycles at the annual Easterseals "iCan Bike" day camp! Up to 30 individuals achieve important goals during the five-day workshop, which is scheduled for June 1-5, 2026, at Evansville's National Guard Armory.
"Bike campers" progress through a series of uniquely adapted bikes toward their goal of riding a regular two-wheeler with no adaptations by the end of the week. Not only do participants learn bike-riding skills, they also build self-esteem and develop the confidence to pursue other challenges in the future.
iCan Bike participants must be at least 8 years old and have some type of disabling condition. The program is designed for individuals with mild to moderate disabilities, which may include cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism, sensory integration difficulties, coordination issues, obesity, or other conditions.
Each participant attends for 75 minutes daily during a specific time frame. (The 75-minute sessions are scheduled in advance and are held between 8:00am and 12:30pm OR between 1:00pm and 4:30pm.)
Cost is $200 per person, and financial assistance is available thanks to generous donors! Registration includes the five-day "bike camp", an "iCan Bike" t-shirt, and bicycle safety helmet.
Volunteers are needed to provide individual assistance for participants. Volunteers must be at least 15 years old, have the ability to run beside a child on a bike, and be available each day of camp during specific session times. This is a great opportunity for service hours for high school and college students!
